Street? Avenue? Parkway?

What do you envision? (or, dear...still more idle thoughts.)

Poem Artwork

I've got questions...

Is strollin’ down the Avenue more romantic

than strollin’ down the Lane?

And would a gated-community

have a Cul-de-sac or a Dead End?

Would you prefer to live on

Elm St. or Rue d‘ Ulmus?

I don’t prefer one to the other

As long as there are no pot-holes!

Have you ever driven on a Drive?

Or played in the middle of a Court?

Would we become unstable in a Circle?

Or get totally lost on the Way?

Did you ever get stuck on a Point?

Or want to stop on a Parkway?

Just nice if they’d all have curbing,

or smooth sidewalk to jog along.

How often have you been lost on a Trail?

Or lost your footing on a Terrace?

Take caution not to stumble on a Run,

or overwhelmed on a Boulevard.

Wonder if there’s more freedom on a Road,

and more conservatives on a Place?

Are more of these designations in the cities

or out in the country? Hmmmmm

(Methinks this woman had too much time on her hands while no access to the internet :o)

Me thinks these are interesting thoughts, and having spent lots of time in the boonies, me thinks it's far less complicated there.

Very clever Micke. Just be careful you don't get caught going the wrong way down a one way dead end street.

I love your ruminations, Micke. My answer is not where or how but with whom. So long as you are in harmony all is good. Victor

I love this poem, Micke! What a fun time I had with your play on words here. I actually grew up on an Elm Street in Ohio.
Very nice job!
Love,
CJ
