Just dropping by to let you know that things are going well and plans are slowly coming together. I am hoping to be returning a little sooner than I thought, but only time will tell.
In the meantime, I hope you enjoy this little ditty. Wishing you all a happy, wonderful summer.
Trish, the Trickster Witch ;-)
A slow, smouldering sun crosses the horizon line,
Bringing early sounds signalling that life is fine,
While across a meadow a large tree wisps away,
Welcoming the newness of another glorious day.
Through sheet glass windows colours do reflect,
While nesting mothers stoop low trying to protect,
Chirping voices cry out loudly declaring hunger,
And down the lane a cat lays with many younger.
Behind a long furrow, a young maiden sits and cries,
Remembering that day, not so long ago, with sighs,
When life was grand and times meant special things,
Yet today brings sorrows and broken wedding rings.
Suddenly, the sun crests over the top of a walnut tree,
Making everything sparkle for all who watch to see,
And quietly, one by one, problems are washed away,
Only to be replaced, with joy, on this wondrous day.

Hi Trish:
I've been away, so didn't know you weren't posting. I hope everything is all right. The poem is a beauty, lovely as always. It speaks to a mix of to quiet pleasures and woeful sadness. Excellent. BTW, check out my poem, "Oh Canada!" if you get a chance. Best regards,
Leland
