Daddy, why do you hate me
and why does mommy cry
Daddy, why are you packing
Did I tell a naughty lie...
Daddy, please say you love me
Daddy, please don't go
I'll change whatever you want me too
Just say it isn't so...
Daddy, you know I love you
Daddy, why don't you care
I wish that I were good enough
to make you stay right here...
Daddy, please don't blame me
I can't help it if I cry
I know that you are leaving
Am I the reason why...
Did I leave my dolly on the floor
was my pillow off my bed
didn't you like my pretty dress
or the ribbons on my head...
Daddy, please don't hate me
I won't make mommy cry
if you promise that you'll stay here
I promise that I'll try...
Daddy...
Thoughts of a broken hearted 6 year old.

Very moving and powerful. Beautiful in its depth. I come from a divorced family and remember the sadness, rage, pain and confusion when one parent or the other left. If parents knew the kind of pain inflicted on their kids when they do this, they might think twice.
Lori,
Once again, an incredible poem. I know that child and you definitely captured the experience and emotion of loss and guilt. Well done.

So ture, kids put the blame on themselves when all along it's the parents fault.
yes, the poor children are even more confused and hurt than the adults. Sad situation...
Wonderful and tender write on a terrible position for a child or her daddy.
It is so hard to watch a child in pain,,,uncertain of why adults do the things they do,,This was done wonderfully made me cry but it got your point across,,,Lisa
These are never easy to write. This was done so well through the eyes of a small child. The small child almost always believes it is something that they did wrong or failed to do to make things right, but we all know that is not the case. Sometimes adults make mistakes and can no longer live their lives as they wish to or sometimes there is no other alternative. This was presented very well Lori...I know for I have been there. It is very real for me and affected me so that I had trouble dealing with it for so many years. The demons increased their attacks when I was at the lowest point of my life and I realized it was up to me to fight back. I found my sabre and I hope you have found yours as well.

The familiar lament of dual-career parents raising children is, "I just can't do it all." The Libra Solution provides an alternative - a more satisfying and sustainable work and life approach - to the overwrought modern day norm.
A wicked Cajun Fairy named Robes Pierre entered the impenetrable Magical doll land of Sha Bebe. Queen Faustina, the ruler of the doll land, thought she had destroyed him, but he's back! Will the doll land survive his evil ways?
Let this coming of age story of a boy named Bean take you back to a simple time. Set in a small southern town in the 1960's, encircled by a river and gleaming white cotton fields.
Once again, an incredible poem. I know that child and you definitely captured the experience and emotion of loss and guilt. Well done.
