Six taut lines,
dissecting the sky,
between wooden poles
in held suspense.
Obscuring the beauty
of the hills and the valley.
Cars pass under them,
others sit in front--
nature takes a back seat,
while modern progress
drives it away.
I know just what you mean, J. Even here in the desert, the lines of electricity march across the view.... Wonderful piece! :)

Don't you just hate it? Fortunately I live in a neighborhood where it is all underground. It seems if you find an untouched space, someone puts up a telephone pole or plants a gas station on it. Sighhhh.
