To better understand the inspiration behind this poem, read Charlie's review of my poem, "Englyn Wind". This poem was written as a rebuttal to her remarks.
(I can tease her all I want... she's my sister. hee, hee...)

I thought my poem sublime,

but Charlie said it’s a crime

that it didn’t have the right rhyme…

Ode to Charlie, Oh Charlie,

you know that I Canardly

cheat and use rhymes you gave me

You said the rhymes need to s

but I say that I just c

(You talk about sounds

and vowels and rhymes

and echoes and echoes

of vowels and rhymes

and all types of teasing sounds)

You said to use more dipthongs

but guess I’m just a ding-dong

‘cuz I prefer to wear shoes…

(Don’t lose toe holds on them things!)

If you think that this offends,

then your ears must be deafened

by Charlie’s laugh in the wind

Oh, Charlie, you’re de master

more words I cannot muster…

and I can’t bow much faster

Don’t think I can stretch that far…

This writing is much too hard

-Just give me the failing card!

Loved it, read it twice, and loved it again.

Beware in your lair,
The curly hair,
For the Charlie-monster
Is on the prowl.

It is so much fun to see you pick on your sister, and for all your AD friends to see! Brave girl [or are you?]. I loved the whimsey in this. You have me smiling lips and a hearty chuckle. What a wonderful way to start my day.

God bless you. Kathy

So, I understand slant verse, liked your highly interpretive visual interpretation lol, but haven't come across Englyn. Better go and look it up.

Great job improvising with words to appease another. Cute, light and very imaginative.....

No!!! You go to work and do better! You do good or I'm a goonna beet (beat?) you up? I do anyways, 'cause I'm such an early riser! And it's still not "englyn", though it is anglin', and it's danglin', but I'm NOT biting! --Charlie

The Wholly Book of Genesis by Jay Dubya

The Wholly Book of Genesis is a humorous satire on the first book of the Old Testament where the Story of Creation, the building of Noah's Ark, Sodom and Gomorrah and the families of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob are thoroughly spoofed and broadsided.
