What is Heaven?/PLUS Who Am I?

In wonder of Heaven. I am who I am with all the fortunate things I have surrounding me.

What is heaven?

My loved one went to heaven?
Is he waiting there for me?

Many mansions are awaiting us there.
The bible says it to be.

Why does he not call me home where
I yearn to be?
I know I'll get the answer
when my God truly needs me.

 WHO AM I
 

 I am a true believer of the Lord Jesus.
I put him first in my life.
I pray to him each day and night for guidance.
I love him and know he is truly my Heavenly Father.

Second in my life was my husband Tom.
He passed away to his eternal home Aug 17 07.
Next in life are my 4 daughters and 9 grandchildren.
Would love a great grandchild, all my friend are great
grandmothers.

So you can say second in my life are my family now.
Third in my life is my cat Seashore.
I don't know what I'd do without her in my life.
She awaits by the door for me to come home each night.

Fourth in my life are the many friends I have on the den and off the den.
I spend many hours on the den with my friends always.
Brings comfort in my grief and is good therapy to be writing.
I could not do without all the friends that are in my life today.

Fifth, you could say is my love for the computer.
Got a slow start, had it since Dec. got on in May 08.
I need it in my life too right now to communicate.
You could actually say it is my present commuter.
 

Those are all the things important to me right now,
Except for a new efficiency apartment and a place to live.
And don't forget my vehicle my car. 
It is a 1996 Chevy Corsica, Blue, but worth it's
weight in Gold.

I am happy to have been so fortunate to have all the

With your second poem you hit a fantastic line of thought that should intrique all of us, that your things you value and live with do a lot in defining who you are. As you seem to imply, this relates to the first poem asking what is heaven. I think heaven is in part a state of who we are not only for the after life but in our state of being now. You are uplifted in that state by the ties to your husband, but also in keeping your faith in Jesus despite your losss--Jerry

very nice mrs lois, i am sorry that you miss your husband. to put a smile on your face i believe when we are left behind god needs us to work harder and when our job is done then he calls us home like most of my family and your dear sweet husband. good luck with your writing.

Lois, do not fret, your husband is near and waits for you.
I know that for myself, for mine visits and sometimes lets
me see him. I feel impatient myself but try to live well

You are clear-eyed and unsentimental, yet full of love and faith.

Jesus was a great example to all humanity. Despite a hundred and one reasons not to believe in the Jewish Superman or any supernatural agency, the heart says yes because the lines in the Bible ring true.

Your husband's love will fill that void beside you, but remember that he is watching from heaven, waiting for you.

Heaven is a place of beauty, and some go too soon to it. And we're left here to mourn, but what gives me comfort is knowing that one day in the future, you will see them again.

No one can match the depth of your pain until they've been in your shoes, where you are - so sorry for your loss - having recently lost my big, strong Daddy, I know the pain, the sense of loneliness - does it ever get easier? I pray it does, for both of us - and we'll have the reunion to look forward to. Deeply moving, eloquent verse, well done.

Lois, your writings are easy to read and bring thoughts and feelings to us...yours and our own...which is always the essence and purpose of poetry.

I do prison ministry and write books about our experiences. Heaven can be found in a prison chapel. Jesus gives us a glimpse of what heaven is like. Your poem is good. I provides hope and vison.
