It’s down to this The dregs of a love affair That had moments of splendor So wonderful That it left us breathless It’s down to this A fire that burned so bright That it blinded us to the truth Leaving embers that mock us With their waning warmth As it dies this natural death I can’t help but wonder Would I have willingly missed The passion you showed me Would I have run If I had known the ending Would hurt so bad It’s down to this Was the happiness Worth the pain of an ending That amounts to this
