there isn't a reason in the world to feel like I do
the holidays happened without a hitch and Christmas sales
offer 75% off on broken ornaments and wrinkled ribbon
I can buy lots of stuff to put in my storage shed
and forget about before next year
I'm going for 5 years accumulation before cleaning it all out
I'm glad I saved 75% on most of it
cause it will cost me most of that to haul it away
anyway why the let down
I mean why now
could it be because of the birthday
insidiously creeping up at the end of the month
despite my best efforts to avoid it
or maybe the weather
what is it about gray snow that is so bothersome
is it the sludge creeping into your socks or
that irritating creak creak creak that shoes make when wet
maybe its just winter...ugh who needs it
but there is one thing that gives me a glimmer of happiness
just a little burst of way to go good cheer
there isn't another damned holiday that I have to pay attention to
for at least another four months
and that friends
makes me smile

Four Months? What about us Irish fokes' day??? This is great. 5 year accumilation? it's only dark gray cuz everyone took down all those pretty lights and decorations. That's the depression you feel. But I am glad you are smiling and hope that you have a Very Happy Birthday. I'm glad that that day gave us You. Always celebrate the anniversary of Your Birth in style!
Keep Smiling!

Glad to meet another "contrary" person who, when it comes down to it, just wants to be left in peace to get on with life and the business in hand. I think I am getting worse... am I an introverted extrovert or an extroverted introvert? All I know is that my own personal space is becoming an obsession, almost. Sorry, I'm dribbling on here, but just to say: YOU ARE DEFINITELY NOT ALONE and thank you for making me feel likewise!! Great write! Just love your searing honestly always, Sue. TY Kate xx
