I’m tired of ugly
I want some beauty in my life
Swans floating on an azure pond
While lilies float languidly nearby
I want skies the color of the finest turquoise
Clouds like puffs of cotton candy
Just waiting for me to grab a taste
I want music that makes me float on air
Catching notes as they drift by
Pure and perfect pitch
Pristine, wonderful…and who am I kidding
I want all that
But what I have is another 2 hours here at work
Before I drive home in a car that needs washing
And the car washes are all full and waiting
I’ll have a Weight Watchers dinner
While watching a re-run of Fear Factor
And be glad I’m not eating flies and roaches
I’ll go to bed too early in a bed too cold
And maybe, if I’m really lucky
I’ll dream of swans floating on an azure pond….
Oh Sue! Sounds like a change in routine is needed, dear Poetess! Dreams are directional road signs to help guide us along our Path.

I can go for swans floating in a pond of any color. This is a very nice write Sue.
We all have the power to make our dreams a reality. By the way, this sounds like a Beatles song, to go with Lucy in the Skies with Diamonds and Strawberry Fields Forever.

I love the feel in this one and the ending was perfection. Dreams are so nice they make up for the lack in my life:)
