I read a few poems by a poet
By the name of Patricia Gomes today
And her words filled me with
Some emotion
Something akin to envy
Why can’t I say that
In just that way
There are a few poets here
That make me feel this way
I’m not going to name each one
Because I might hurt someone who may
Be inadvertently left out
The things is
Poetry is so wonderful
It often leaves me speechless
It is a way of sharing
A small piece of your mind
With others and in a way
That makes them feel enriched
For the experience
It may not be a good feeling
The emotion created
But it will reach into your guts
And stir you
In a way that nothing else quite does
Words
They are the most important piece of you
Because you can give them away
By the truckloads
And you’ll still have more
To use tomorrow
And poets
Use those words so creatively
I am in awe to be one of you
Honored
To have read your words
And pleased
To have you read mine

The world would be less without you
And so would I
I think that you are a trip!!! I like your writes........and believe it or not.........earlier today I read your blog, and I have read maybe 10 blogs total, since they were initiated here at AD. I don't know why I don't read them I just don't. Maybe its because there is not area for review, because I certainally had thoughts to throw in here and there,

Sis, this is a wonderful dedication to poets everywhere. A poet writes the way he or she does, and none of us are the same, in words, style, or thinking, because we all write about the beauty we see, and for poets, beauty is really in the eye of the beholder. I have read your poems sis, and they are lovely, dark, real, romantic, emotional, and this is what poetry is. I am so honored that you felt the time to read mine, because I don't think I'm really that talented. But you are sis, more than I am. May the Lord Jesus bless you, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. Pat writes wonderfully and honestly, so do you. We share our words, our feelings and release our tension and realise some thing in return as well. Poetry comes from our heart and some times from the very depth of our souls, touching and gripping. We are a family of our own, see!!!

Sue, I'm a fan of Patricia Gomes as well (she rocks) and let me tell you -- you're every bit as fascinating a writer, just stylistically different and different is good!
Thank you, Sue, for expressing here something which I think to myself at least twice every day!! Appreciation is such a fine thing, and although we review, your poem stands alone in making the feelings of most of here known to one another: it is indeed a privilege to be among such a circle and, like a vast choir, each voice is unique and necessary. This is a wonderful poem, Sue! I have the same response to other poets. Sometimes, you are literally left speechless. Especially if it so close to your own experience that you are moved to tears...
