I want to apologize, all of my poetry is starting to sound the same to me...i think i need to experiment with a new form or structure or something...
Regret
The biggest boogie man of my life
The big hairy one with scary teeth
That hides in every closet
Under every bed
Regret is the one you can’t get away from
The one that chases you thru every year
With sad eyes and dripping venom
He follows where ever you go
You run down dark alleys
Hide under beds
All the while
Knowing that is not the way to go
But how else can you hide
Where else can you go
To avoid that big one
regret
No it's not Sue, sometimes we can sound as if we are using the phraseology, but each poem we write should be taken on it's own individual merit...this is excellent.
... Nope, think I'd remember if I'd heard this one before, Sue! It is so graphic and powerful and not one to be forgotten in a hurry!! Why turn your back on success, after all... in terms of your writes, I mean. Ultimately, our voice tends to find it's own register, diction, line-length and tone, I think... but is still unique in it's style and point of view, like the "real" one. Yours is always valuable and your message totally knockout. Please don't smash the "record" which we all love; you'll regret it when you realise it bears the golden Abbey Road or Decca label!! (Sorry, showing my transatlantic-ness here!) LOL and I shall be nightmaring about that Bogey of Regret... what a Black Dog for sure. TY Kate xx
Oh Sue, This one really touches me at home right now.
Excellent!!
And I must tell you... Never apologize.
All of your poetry is Fantastic.
go with the flow I'm loving all your poems, always. (c:)
Well stated Sue! I think that "Regret" monster, stalks everyone at some point in their lives! Tell him you've given him all the sorrow that he's gonna get! Then send him packing, lock the door and don't let him back in!
don't fix what isn't broken ... though i understand your desire to explore down different avenues ... as poets, we must always strive for versatility ...

Oh well I remember those boggie men and how mama and daddy used to keep us in line with those stories.
You may be dissatisfied Sue, But I think your work is always
good! Explore , but don't lose your fresh spontaniety.
Regret is a fine poem about an emotion hard to deal with.
Her grandma always said she had “the blessing”, and to always use it for good, but sometimes there is shame in fame if a person can’t handle it. Don’t let the Boo Hag ride ya
well done
William .....Peace & Love
