Good Intentions and Malcontent

My intentions are good
Always have been
Since the early years
When all I knew was trouble
Til now
When I couldn’t stir up a little trouble
No matter how hard I tried
I always wished the best
For myself
And anyone else
I just didn’t have the know-how
To bring it about
Or the follow-thru
To keep trying till I did
My intentions….
What can I say now
After all the years have passed
And nothing good has come
Except that all along
My intentions were always good

You say it well for all of us, Sue. At least the honest ones. I wonder if the malcontent comes into play in that there are days when knowing our intentions were good doesn't silence the nasty, critical voice in our head stirring up malcontent about our life history? I enjoyed this piece alot.

It's so sad that good intentions alone have no power, for if they did, good would be so much simpler to attain. I can relate to this, my intentions have always been good and I don't see that it's made much difference. Made me think. Pierre.

That is a very good thing, Sue. And often in life, I guess we have to be content with knowing we did have good intentions, no matter the result.
