I’m having a needy day
It’s capricious
This vulnerability of mine
Comes and goes
With little rhyme or reason
One day I’m WOMAN
In control of my life and destiny
The next I cower
In the womb of my frailties
Curled into myself
In the fetal position I know so well
Hoping to weather the winds of time
With as little damage as possible
Tomorrow I will rise
And be all that I can be
I know I will
But for today
I am needy

We all have those days...I know I do. I say on these days, curl up with a warm blanket or afghan, relax and pamper yourself. I have days such as this, I usually find that a cry, prayer, something sweet, and soft bed for a little while goes a long way...I finally gain my strength look in the mirror give myself a pep talk and start a fresh new day. I agree with CJ it is okay, we do all have those days. I loved this write it was honest and sincere and very creative.
Blessings and happy holidays,

That's okay, Sue -- we all have those days, my friend, so be needy! This is a creative poem that speaks volumes. Well done.

As we all are from time to time but as long as we can regonize our neediness for what it is and have the ability to bounce back as you do then it is okay. Nothing wrong with needing someone or somthing.

Needy today is fine, you've got so much to be thankful for Sue, with Deb getting clean this year and you resuming your loving mother/daughter bond does take it all back
"In the womb of my frailties
Curled into myself
In the fetal position I know so well."

Tell Deb Sage is proud of her. She is a courageous woman who also has so much to be thankful for in you as a loving mother who took her in again and trusted her to change and move in a positive direction in this beauty of life...my thoughts are with you both on this Thanksgiving...I have monitored her progress right on along with you all throughout this past year as you wrote it and hope she is still on the righteous path...Blessed Be...

If'n it ain't chicken, it must be feathers. Human frailty that it is, we all succumb to this practice of holding out our hearts for a little love tap so that we can keep on keeping on.

Sue ...

This, I believe - could be a fickle moniker for everyone.

"Needy" is a condition that returns on a regular basis to all of us. And when it does it certainly is undeniable isn't it? You write a universal message here, and you do so with reluctant panache.

Light and Wisdom ...

Hi Sue, We can all use a little TLC sometimes. But, naw, don't curl up in a ball too long, unless you tell yourself, "Hey Sue, you're one great chick. So what if you feel lousy and in need today...this too will pass." Then give yourself five minutes to be vulnerable, then shrug the feeling off, smile and say, "This is the day that the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it." :) Yep! That's what I would do!

God Bless
Lena

AH, THE YIN AND THE YANG OF LIFE. Sometimes hard, sometimes soft. Captain Antonio Corelli called his mandolin Antonia - his other half, his feminine side. But don't tell the jocks, they think antithesis - black, white, man, woman, nothing in between. If you fel in-betweeny, it's a pat of life's duality, girl named Sue! :-))
