This is another nostalgia poem, believe it or not I don't really live in yesterdays, it is just the kind of poetry that touches me...

I woke up early this morning
Woke with an ache
That more sleep wouldn’t make go away
An ache you used to soothe
One you used to look for in my eyes
When we woke early on a Saturday
And turned to one another
As natural as life itself
That ache that begged you to take me
Make Saturday that special day
The way you make me that special woman
I pressed my hand to the pit of my stomach
Doing nothing to ease the pain
And cried a tear for yesterday
And Saturday mornings that would never end

Very emotional Sue and I'm glad
you don't dwell on the negatives.
But memories can serve us well
if we pay attention.

Such a sad write, full of heartache, pain and lonliness. It speaks volumes. Thanks.

Sue we find inspiration where we find it, reliving of fond memories in poetry is a healthy and often beutiful way to relive and once more enjoy what was and always will be a beautiful memory...as long as it does not leave you feeling sad then it is good.
