A moment of silence
For dreams that never came true
For hopes never realized, ambitions
Never fulfilled, a moment
Of complete quiet, respect for the dead
Dead aspirations, dead expectations
Bones piled high in some neglected corner
Of life’s never quite lived at all
Lets pause a moment to reflect
And then put the silence aside
Where it really belongs
Silence that widens the gap
Between understanding and misconception
Giving depth to the ravines already
Between us, widening the fault
Between mankind and his ambitions
Instead of silence let us now
Have a moment of intense communication
For all that we are and all that we can be
