I feel grumpy, disgruntled
I read everyone else’s words
And they seem to shine
Why didn’t I say that
Why does their words flow
While mine sit on the page
In an uncomfortable pile
Ugly image comes to mind
Why do I always feel this way
During this special time of year
Bah humbug I bristle and pout
I don’t want anything for xmas dammit
I just want my words to flow
And sound the way they should
My topic to be of vital interest
And twenty reviews per poem
I don’t’want much do I, I plead
Is it really so much to ask
Talent is all that I want, all I need
If I can’t have mine, give me his or hers
Is it really so much, I ask?

Sue I really enjoy your work, I read almost everything you post! You are gifted, sometimes you just may not feel like you are. Let the ink flow and never give up.
I think you write pretty darn good poetry, Sue. I think we've been around this den long enough to know that not every one you read and review returns the courtesy. Sadly it is more like 1 for every 7 given in my experience and that takes up a lot of time. It gets depressing to elevate everyone else's soul and muse but get bypassed in the process. I am a writer and I have no choice but to promote beauty in poetry and that love to everyone to continue. That is the same reason you do it. I love the way that each of us has his or her own style of expression. I love that feeling we get when we touch someone in some way. Yes, Sue and I love your work...so do not be discouraged and continue weaving your magic. Expand into other genres if you must but continue writing no matter what.

Personally I would rather settle for one good one,
I don’t know if it makes you feel any better, but here’s one from me.
And I agree about Christmas.
I used to know a lady with loads of talent, maybe she hasn’t got around to opening all her presents yet.
