Mixed Tenses and Mixed Drinks

Twinkle twinkle little star
Have I traveled bar to bar
Had one drink and then another
Hoping all my doubts to smother
Should I stay or head on home
Did I sit or get up and roam
Should I dance or just be still
would I leave or drink my fill
Twinkle twinkle little star
See how bright and smart you are
You can still compose a rhyme
And here it is closing time
If you can write a poem I think
You can handle one more drink
I was brave, nay I was bold
I had that drink and passed out cold

Nicely said. I can relate to this actually quite well. I know that of which you speak. Love and peace to you. Regis

Relax ladies, this was purely whimsical, i quit drinking when my grandson was a year old and he is driving this year. i don't find alchoholism funny but occasionally my past inspires something quircky and i write it, just because i can i guess

(((susan)))

LOL--that's me, had that drink and passed out cold...it was so bad, i couldn't remember how i got home that night...I DROVE...by the Grace of God, i didn't wreck the car, kill anyone or myself, or get stopped...that was 20 years ago, and i've been sober since THANK GOD

i've been there--cute write, but alcohol is insidiously sneaky...it gets you when you're least expecting it, and many innocent lives are ruined by its effects, including those partaking of it

(((HUGS))) and love,

karla. *now i got that tune stuck in my head--THANKS A LOT* better that than a snootful of booze :)

alcohol is nothing to mess with, but this write does have a bit of a whimsical and humorous side to it, especially the ending! LOL (me, i don't touch the stuff; it's nasty, and besides, i already have more than enough trouble walking when i am sober!! why do i even NEED to drink, i ask of you now, hunh?? LOL plus i am on medication, and i do NOT want to mix alcohol and medication...NOT a good thing if i do; just may end up buying the farm, if you know what i mean! LOL) enjoyed; thanks for sharing!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your (tee-totaller) texas friend, karen lynn. :D
