Clouds speak to me
Nature’s canvas for all to see
Watercolors on a sea of blue
Animals and people likenesses anew
Cumulus shapes formed by a bold stroke
Summer’s late afternoon sun my body soaks
Winter’s treat of cirrus
Slight streaks on dark blue auspicious
Cold air that ignites my soul
A crisp blue sky with white pinholes
Fresh evergreen pervades my senses
Snow piled high on wooden fences
Stratus shapes signal silence
Thoughts drift like a broken stylus
Faraway places I’ve yet to imagine
Lacy threads of white satin
Portend a change of season
That refreshes our spirit without reason
Thunderclouds dark and ominous
Rush across prairies just above us
Spring rain brings life to dormant flowers
God’s palate appears after heavy showers
Clouds remind me of our lives
Changed forever and revived
