Light creeps along the window sill

Shadows edge along the wall
Hidden secrets large and small
Begin to form a geometric mosaic
With perfect meter and prosaic
Slide closer to human form
Gently awaken the tired and worn

Mellifluous fragrances permeate the room
With scents of wildflowers in bloom
Birds search on the window ledge
For a morning morsel once alleged
My senses stirred by nature's dance
Awaken me from a peaceful trance

Cool air filters into my space
Like a silk shroud of lavender lace
Persimmon and spearmint fill my lungs
Titillate my nostrils and tongue
First light signals a new day
