The Sun's eye.(re post...2000)

Lifting up his veil of night

the giant glared out his eye,

 big and orange ,

 fiery hot,

upon my home.... to spy.

 Noon time caught him

looking down,

 scalding with his stare,

 captured without shadow shield,

 his witness burnt me there.

 Fleeting moments of relief

blinked

as cloud lid passed,

 and with a shroud

 of

 evening's black,

night blinded him

 ...at last.

Kay-I know this sun all too well with the weather we've been having although even the night hasn't cooled him down too much. Excellent write!
I just wrote a poem called Ah, Summer which is a little bit similiar to this ;) I'll be posting it.
