What would you think if it happened to you
And your children and home were destroyed?
Would you believe that the US was right,
would their televised war, be enjoyed?
Me, I’d cry without heads on my friends,
I’d go nuts knowing that this was their end,
I’d want to die, or make powerful friends.
What would you do with your beloved dead
Would it worry you to be alone?
Would you believe in the US, or fight?
What to loose, once your life had been blown?
No, you’d seek help from despairing new friends,
Screw the means; you'd go for your ends
you heart hardened, feel unable to mend
"No more nice guy, my enemys, now to end!"
Do you need to act civil?
You just lost everybody you loved.
Could it be anybody?
Sure, as long as your buddies could shove.
Would you believe that you’d fight till you died
Yes I’m certain—it happens all the time.
What might you do in the face of such crimes?
Look at Palestine, out of it’s mind.
Oh, I’d get high with a little help from new friends,
Not just cry with a little help from dead friends,
Or else die, once I’d lost all my friends.
Would you need anybody?
Just other victims of war.
Could it be anybody?
Only somebody as sore.
What do you do
when you’re children are dead
and you can't think, work, love; only drink?
Do you give thanks to the mongers that killed
Or vow justice to get, else make 'em think?
Oh, you might try if you still could make friends,
Or just cry without help, fam'ly or friends,
Try not to die, if you still could have friends.
Give em hell, for the lives that they end.
With a little help from my friends,
With a little help from my friends
with a little help from my friends...
Most people won't think of anything, unless it really happens to them personally; but I think this war has really get everybody thinking - about themselves as well as everyone else.
Good work with the song!
