"I can't stand the flies that zoom in this room! So I 'll just fix the window, then gaze at the moon,"
said I.
I do not remember how fixing it, I did,
because I am used to playing the kid,
(especially when my boyfriend's around)
but in spite of my lapse, I am sure it was sound....
I was barely done, but I can't quite recall,
for just at the moment of carpenter glory,
did I loose my mind and things got a bit gorey:
annoyed by a fly that landed on new glass
I'd triumpheted, "Stand back!"
and then like an ass, with
my hammer, applied to fly a big blow,
"Now that will teach 'em, for I'm in the know!"
Oops, I got the fly, but the window it flew
In spite of my ecstasy at what I could do
A little too proud; a little girl-again,
Oh f*** it
I'm never competing with men.
My boyfriend he laughed;
the fly, did it flew?
or did it die stuck
to the hammer like glue?
Or did it laugh with him,
my carpenter dear?
I don't quite remember,
just wish I'd more fear.

The Wholly Book of Genesis is a humorous satire on the first book of the Old Testament where the Story of Creation, the building of Noah's Ark, Sodom and Gomorrah and the families of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob are thoroughly spoofed and broadsided.
