Children laying upon
Summer grasses
Discovering clover-
Pulling out the stems
Tying them together
Making necklaces...

I did this as a child and watched my children and grandchildren do it too. Love the poem.

You have so skilfully in six lines brought a panorama of past childhood memories alive again...
I remember making necklaces with Clover, and searching avidly for one of the four-leafed kind as our Art Teacher told us he would give £5 to anyone who could find one!
No one did...but the looking was exciting, under a vast canopy of blue sky and bright Sunshine...That forgotten day is now immortalised in my memory...Thank you...
Diana....

the fourfold petal clover is a token of lifetime (systematic) good luck. . . that's what they are naively after. . . a necklace is only a cover, a poor replica of the circular birth and death (the number one) to account to their good parents ;)) Cheers, alex

Something that I'd forgotten. The girls always made necklaces like that.

i think the first time I remember knowing about clover, it was stuck on a string hanging from the ceiling. It was only later that I found out how great it was to lay in and scope the sky.

Clover! I love clover!!!! I have a poem concerning clover on here too. Making tea from clover is a great hormonal leveler for menopausal women. I love it with the red clover. Love this poem!!

Love ya!
