Elephants in disguise
shimmy through the street,
slip into the Spud-U-Like
for something hot to eat,
the soul of quiet discretion,
with soft-shoe, sneaky ways,
they are party dudes by night
and bank clerks on working days.

Creep softly by, unseen;
dark glasses and cravats
and morning suits of green,
their trunks tucked out of sight,
their ears under top hats,
and soft felt sewn beneath
their two-tone shiny spats.

Elephants in disguise
look out, they're everywhere!
Cheating in beauty pageants
with wigs of long blonde hair,
they steal my sandwiches
and eat them on the roof,
they even steal my vodka
that's ninety percent proof.

Elephants in disguise -
I wish they'd go away,
but they follow me around
till the world begins to sway.
When the ceiling starts to spin
like a top, before my eyes,
comes the sly and tusky grin
of the Elephants in disguise.
