Poem Artwork

A demonstratively treated interpretation

of what happens when your mind plays

tricks and tells your eyed vision to take

it all in - while trying so desperately to

get your see-legs.

You continue to stumble and lose your

balance, giving great amusement to the

thing inside of you called equilibrium, or

is that E pluribus unum, meaning "out of

many, one more pratt fall for the gipper."

Then you unsteadily pitch and roll to the

beat of your intoxicated drummer who's

played one too many gigs; and thought

he heard six bells, or was that eight? It

certainly wasn't three for all is well!

Steady as she goes as you begin to list

with that sinking feeling, "Will I ever be

able to get up off the floor?" "Oh, great,

I think there's an earthquake occurring

under my eyelids!"

Somebody once told me that I was going

to be a mover and a shaker, but for Pete's

sake, not this way; "Please help me!"

"Thanks buddy for throwing a buck in my

hat, but I'm not a vagrant!"

And to make matters worse, I'm now being

arrested for disorderly conduct; "Officer, let

me explain!" "You have the right to remain

silent . . . " "Oh goody, now I can add not

being able to talk to my list!"

I was able to sort the whole thing out at the

Police Station - as a matter of fact they had

quite a good laugh, as did I; for you see, I

was in an Amusement Park's Funny House

You know, the one where the floor moves!

It's good when we can look back and laugh about situations, and especially when we can laugh at ourselves. I love the humor in this great write.
