'Didn't say much, except to grunt and groan'

Poem Artwork

Ev'ry mornin' in the jungle

you could see him arrive

He stood fifty foot tall in

his stocking feet; kinda

broad at the shoulders

Had slim hips - all he ate

were bananas . . .

Everybody knew ya didn't

give no lip to Big Bad Kong

Nobody seemed to know

where Kong called home -

up in a tree, or in a cave;

He did seem to stay in the

swing of things though . . .

Didn't say much, except to

grunt and groan; sometimes

threw spitballs - and when

you addressed him, you called

him, "Sir;" one day somebody

from the Big Apple showed up

on Kong's shore . . .

Couldn't entice him with fruit, so

he got his blond bombshell to show

the Big Mug what was under her skirt

He started to flirt; she jilted him - he

went berserk; kicked-ass on the

natives; was gassed - woke up in

New York . . .

Big Bad Kong was put on public

display on Broadway - thought he

saw an old friend in the audience

Guess who? Tarzan of course!

Broke the chains that bound him

The crowd lost it - turned Kong's

friend into a doormat . . .

Tarzan was now the Lord of the

Demise; the big ape threw on a

black armband and hit the streets

Became a one gorilla wrecking crew

known today as "Gorilla Management"

To trick him, they painted the Empire

State Building a bright yellow . . .

Big Bad Kong headed to the top with

his new squeeze; he was gunned down

Fell 101 floors - there are 102, but that's

another story; Kong should've used a

parachute - what color? I don't know

He was splattered - all over the news

No longer went ape . . .

I heard the news today, Oh boy,

About an ape who lost his head.

He was my friend, but now he's dead.

Kong wasn't wrong, He just didn't belong.

He was my friend, but now he's dead.

I heard the news today, Oh boy.

LOL, Robert, you tell an engaging tail. Er, tale. Do apes even have tails? I'm confused! LOL But not by your winner of a write - well done.
