Full moon bright Pales the stars Paints the path golden
The trees Stark sentinels Cast bold shadows
I walk among these To the whispering spring That’s veiled in silver Like a ghostly maiden
I am a wizard A druid A witch No A faerie More in accord With the woman within Awakened by the pull Of the pregnant orb above
I sit on a moss-cushioned fallen giant Listen to the silent woods Smell the scent of cedar Fir and forest floor Feel the drops of dew Upon my fevered face
Awash in magical moonlight I am one with the night
THE THOUGHTS THAT CAN SURELY CROSS ONE'S MIND WHEN 'MOON SPELL' TAKES OVER. WELL DONE WITH GREAT IMAGERY. THANKS FOR SHARING, LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS
Wow! One of my faves from you, thus far, Regis. I was immediately transported into the dark woods, where I followed that golden glow. I love the many creative descriptions in this poem - "pregnant orb" is my favorite. One for my library!
Sheila
You have taken me on a magical journey on podcast. To match your photo with your voice is just AWEsome! Your voice! So reminds me of a performer at a Renaissance Fair. You sitting atop a Celtic King's cedar wood chess piece carved post chair right next to the glass blower's shop who is a beautiful Druidess woman "veiled in silver like a ghostly maiden." You watch her sensuous lips blow the pipe and to your surprise, she presents you with what she has just blown out of molten glass, a yellow-orange orb cast of the moon. Her name is Ren and she is your friend. You speak a beautiful voice which illuminates the moon shine of woodland. Thanks Regis!

Of all the great poems I read today, I think I love this one most of all. The piece has a stark beauty; I marvel that your descriptions can sound so lavish with such economy of words. Passing under the spell of this poem, I too feel my spirit once more in harmony with the moon.
This is exquisite. It reminds me of the tales I read in my childhood and the illustrations that accompanied them. It also echoes in my own dreamy woodlands of fantasy.
Aahh that moon, that "pales the stars, and paints the paths golden" paints our hearts and touches our soul too, so we become enslaved to her glorious and alluring charm. Stunning poetry Regis, as always :)

Regis, I am left breathless as I sit on that moss cushioned fallen giant with you and contemplate the mystical moon while the wild scents of the forest surround us with the magic of the night. This is a stunning work, absolutely.
I like that your feminine aspect awoke to write this lovely tribute to the night. I find it gloriously satisfying when a male has no problems with his female aspects. All humanity is comprised of male and female, the anima and animus... it is the male who can recognize this and accept it, who is truly masculine.
Your graphic is gorgeous, as always. I'd love to know your source. <wink>
This is a beautiful poem. I feel jealous that I am not Mirajolie.

Like the short, direct lines- I usually dislike Fantasy poetry, but I think that's because lots of writers go waaaay overboard with descriptions until it is boring for the reader, but yours works better with the short lines because it makes the descriptions easier to visualize and the reader then is more concentrated on the images rather than trying to swallow a thousand images at once. Great stuff:)
This is essential. The "woman within" is the core of human identity. The mnetaphor corresponds to one of the most important pronouncements of Mawlana Jalal-ad-Din Rumi.
WOW!! What a beautiful and captivating poem. I am sure the recipient will feel extremely blessed that you are a part of her life, Regis.

I agree with Kate this is really very enchanting and the graphic is indeed beautiful. What I need right now to make me feel better. I don't worry about the hair on your head you look very distinguished like that and hey didn't Kojack become a sexy symbol. This is a beautiful write and I am glad I looked it up.
B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L, Regis. This must represent one of your longer and more lyrical, stanzaic writes of late - more "female", as you speak about, perhaps!! (Doubtless others will disagree!!) You are so upfront, speaking so candidly about getting in touch with your feminine side, without a hint of boyish coyness. The result is complete and utter wholeness, as far as I can see; complete integrity, balance and well-being. You exude the health of one who is rich beyond measure at the moment... because you are fed and sourced by an inner stream of life which cannot be taken away from you! Love is like that, isn't it?! Can almost see that healthy glow in your cheeks and perhaps, who knows, maybe even hair will regrow on your head?!!! Facetious, but well-meant!! LOL Kate xx
Interesting tribute to Earth.

Oh, Regis... this enveloped me, brought such vivid mind-pictures and, at last, settled within, entirely. This one will linger; your clever brevity of phrasings wound a string around the whole and I was there, seeing what you saw, feeling it. This is, indeed, my favorite so far. I especially loved this line: On the outer edge of winter... (that line stopped me and I marveled)... sooooooo poetic and visionary. katy xox
Dear Regis,
How many poems has the moon inspired. An enigmatic mysterious glow that lights the night sky. She (could I give her gender?)appears cool and aloof and yet somehow warm and inviting (an oxymoron)
I can relate to this gorgeous expressive write because I too am inspired by nature. You are a deep and sensitive soul and it shows throughout all your work. Mirajolie is fortunate lady.

Gorgeous mastery of mood, Regis! I saw each line in my mind, felt the pull of the 'pregnant orb', gentled 'Moon Spells' from the night, creating a total integration with the moments movements through Time's grace, a simple Nirvana of the most regal type, ruled by cosmic radiance mingled with earthy magic. Enjoyed!
You know, I looked out and saw you walking in those Canadian woods by your house last night. The moonlight was awesome reflecting off late winter snow, and the sweet smell of cedar cleared my head. Wear more clothes next time, sweetie. ;-) Oh, yeah, lovely write, Oberon.
Wooooohhhhh! I love this! What an awesome picture!!!! I was there in the moonlight with you. Great poem! ;)

Regis,
Enchanting all the way. Moon spell draws one right into the forest and brings the sights and smells to life. It takes a very special talent to pull us in.
i know those woods i've been in them --- or, at least in the rag tag remnant that fringe the UBC campus -- they are mystc and magic in the day light --
a very heavilly overcast, [not to say sodden] day -- in the moonlight they must be breath taking your poem certainly is ...

Outstanding, Regis. You took me away into the woods that I love. I like the smell of dirt, tree bark, mushrooms, moss....I could go on and on. I experienced those sensual pleasures in your poem.
This is wonderful. Much better than I've been doing.
