Wow, I really like this Regis. Equating passion and sexuality with the beauty of nature which to me makes it sacred (sexuality, I mean). There are not many expressing the sacredness of sexuality. Unfortunately, I think it is because many people are not experiencing the magic of love beyond the romance. There is nothing like coming full circle.
Of course, I would choose different pictures for my expression ;-)
Regis: Ah, such lovely ending, "Now winter comes...ever will the soil be warm and ready to erupt...when you and I are one." This poem radiates the passion within the heart and soul and so well written. I'll have to read more of your poetry because I can feel a real human in this piece.

Very passionate and sensual write Regis...I love the last line...when you and i are one. That's just how a relationship should be as one. Too many today are wrapped up in themself and seem to forget that they have a partner. My friend if more couples felt as passionate about each other...I am sure that the divorce rate would decrease. You are a very talented and sensative artist my friend.

Of course the pulchritudinous images set a lush mood of visualizing wonderment and beauty, which also you undergird, seamlessly, with your words. I am reminded of a string of aesthetic vignettes that lead up to a beautiful climax of expression between two in the throws of passion.
The feeling you express is very distinctive of Canadian poetry in the way you employ evocative nature and seasonal imagery to reach your reader. Well done!
The heat and endurance of true passion pours from your verses, Regis, even though the intensity of longing tugs at each word. I don't believe that I was notified about this poem, though I have been very busy with holiday stuff and a house guest so perhaps I didn't catch it in my mail and tossed it off as an advertisement or something. Beautiful poetry!

Hi Reg. Hope they sort out your messaging system. 'Passion' leaves plenty of space for the reader to conjure up imagery as you offer it. I found it actually worked just as well even if you consider your passion to be an activity, such as writing for example, rather than that of two people. Makes it worth reading at least twice with a different focus in mind. It goes to show that you have left room in your poem for the reader to interact and even to interpret your words to fit in with their world.
Vividly descriptive, Reg, but at the same time not so prescriptive as to rob the reader of input. You should be very pleased with this one. Well done.

I want to write with the same kind of imagery as you have when it comes to loves poems, but I’m a little gun shy that the poem will will end up being commonplace...not so for this poem... you know, some might think that this poem is liner in its path, a straight line from beginning to end. Perhaps you intended the poem to be that that way. Actually, as I went back over it, I found there was more of a rhythm, like the ocean‘s tide. There was a roll and crash of passion in the beginning, but then a receding foam on the beach by way of the fluttering butterfly image. No doubt they are in retreat from the storm, yet there is the sound & image of thunder, white flashes, crashing like a wave. Then, the image of their wings, dainty against the motion (the image) of their wings moving on air in dips and lifts as they head to those "secret hidden spaces." So, that image to me is a little more action like the wave coming in again and then the lull of the wave going out to depths. Next image, back to the birds quieted from the dying wind, so for a moment I’m hearing the wind again and their silence after. Then there's the bated breathing from those glowing embers digested, but not taken over by winter. I always think of the way snow insolates all the city's clamor and noise... but then there is the snuggling in the afterglow...here comes another wave... See what I mean? Do you hear the rise and fall to your images in the poem's words? Or am I writing this because I’ve been up all night? Just joking!;o) It's very good! I'm not really good at 'critiquing' the works of others. Like the old saying about art: "I know nothing about art - but I know what I LIKE!" While I would someday like to be remembered for my writing, it is more for prose, than for poetry. I know not the 'proper' intrinsics, like: rhyme, meter, foot, feet. iambic pentameter, sonnet, haiku - et cetera, ad infinitum.
I also am not a 'prude' when it comes to perfectionism, in anything, especially poetry. If something 'grabs my heart' and I 'get it' - SO BE IT ! Because 'poesy' usually comes from the depths of a person's soul, I believe it to be very 'personal' - and if only ONE other human being grasps the idea, concept, or feeling expressed - then, it is a SUCCESS!
