Interesting right Reg and striking in it's images of horses racing across a plain, but the deeper message of freindship shines throught in the end like a sun breaking through the clouds.
What a ride!!:) Love the way the ways you made us feel and hear wind: ala wind, winsome, whirlwind...vowel echoes in words such as
thinking and friends. Kept Love in the saddle without once getting on your high horse. {Thought doesn't really fit, but it rode up & I couldn't resist climbin' on.} Love horses, love the writin', cain' say as how I can resist the cowboy waitin' t'grab the reins. What a good friend you are!!!!!! Yes, a friend in need is a friend indeed; especially when there romance within the friendship which makes the friendship all the more treasurable.
This one is very cleverly written as it can be interpreted in a variety of ways.
Yet, isn't that what poetry is about, anyway? Words flowing from the soul and expressed.
On the surface, this one is intense
On the other hand, this is a great metaphor for deep seated emotions we all have within, and sometimes, something or someone stirs like a beautiful Horse !!

Interesting write. Sometimes it is hard to be friends when we have been or want to be so much more...but sometimes we just need to be. This is a wonderful expression of complications.

That first rush does, often, dilute our prudence, I will assuredly attest to that little fact. True friends are few in this crazy world. I am sure though that you break all molds with your suave and endearing charms dear Regis. A delightful write friend.
"Wind Rider" was a lovely title for your picturesque poem. She must sail along freely with the wind in her hair, knowing there is someone to pick her up if she falls.

good read...as you know, you switch tenses at "I watch..." you might try "In awe I now merely watch you ride..." [when you threw prudence to the wind, more than watching is implied, therefore the now and merely. hope this makes sense. still it's clear about the continued admiration, etc. thanks for sharing

It is so good to read you again-i loved this, but I found the sentences in the brackets distracting and like the poem better with them omitted, because then this is so good, it could be submitted somewhere-keep up the good work, Regis! :)
