Not that you need yet another review of this poem as you have quite a collection below, but I couldn't resist coming back to 2007 to see your poem "Brief Encounter" that you mentioned today in your comment about my poem. Yours is succinct and very moving, striking at the heart of the brief encounter. John
While I don't speak or know French I think it is very clever that you include French translations of your poems. I wonder though how close the two versions are to each other.
The English version is very nice. Emotions penetrate your words as should be the case in a poem. The words leave an imprint and leave us with longing for something we've lost.

This reminds me of what happens to a bouguet of beautiful red roses. at first they are so beautiful yet within a short period of time they die. Sad indeed!,

I loved this poem "Brief Encounter". It's so romantic. Thank you for your kind review on my children's poem I take it you're a fan of 'Lord Of The Rings'. I've read it four times, and now on my fifth. Why shouldn't we still be kids at heart? The world would be a far better place.

sweet and extremely beautiful poem. Touches you gently in the soul comforting you like a drop of rain falling upon you when you are in the desert burning with thirst and not knowing where to go to fetch water.
This poem moves mountains, my Friend! It illustrates how even a brief encounter can garner forever memories... you are in your prime, my friend! I Love It...

Life is a saga of brief encounters. It is what we make of them that counts, not their length or frequency.
As a young man, I sought out elders, those retired, who had time to share their experience. For example, Herb Morrison, a radio pioneer who recorded the fiery crash of the Hindenburg and became my friend.
And my own ventures, mostly alone, out and around the world. Brief encounters enrich a life. The rest is boredom.

Encounters I wish were brief seem to last and encounters I wish would last are always brief...lol. This is a great poem with a powerful message. Thanks for sharing.
And sometimes those "brief encounters" can last a very long time. :P The picture compliments the piece very well, and the words here flow in harmony with each other. I loved reading it.
