I came upon (She called me… …to the field… …and grateful I am.) A field of flowers Before me I Looked more closely Each one different Each one lovely Many beckoned But one particularly Nodded and motioned In sweet breeze Of naked circumstance She stood out Wafted her scent Upon the winsome breeze She sent Her sunshine smile Her softest petal touch Her voice A nightingale’s Angelically sweet She played The piano She aroused The guitar Strummed emotions Powerless to resist I chose To choose her Lost I am In the storm of consequences The deluge of rumours I will always love her Must move on Whatever that means Hurting will not be denied Nor will she Be less than the goddess Who took control of me
AN EXCELLENT WORK, REGIS. OUR 'CHOICES' ARE NOT ALWAYS WISE, BUT I GIVE CREDIT TO THE ONE WHO ADMITS THEIR 'ENJOYED' MISTAKE...BUT THEN, SEEING HOW GREAT THEIR FOLLY WAS... MAKES THE HONEST DECISION TO MOVE ON AND 'WALK AWAY', WHILE THEY STILL CAN. AMEN. THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS
No matter what people say it is not that easy to move on, to stop loving that one person who meant the world to you, to whom you've opened up completely. The hurt, the pain never truly goes away. :(
I am not sure how this poem is meant to be read but when I read it pausing at the end of each line the flow is off for me... But the content is great - very emotional and moving. I can feel your pain.
Regis,
I am truly addicted to reading your poems. They always tug at my heart. I love reading them as much as I love listening to Mireille Mathieu and Charles Aznavour et aussi Georges moustaki. Tu les connais?
Amicalement,
Nicole
What a beautiful poem! With such a sad ending. Love the way you write Regis.
Much love,

what a beautiful expression of "better to have loved and lost"! I read it three times and felt a tug each time! Thank YOU for sharing! c.c. aka author's den Newbie!
Excellent piece as you dare to write with such honesty! You are a brave and charming soul and reality with the promise of true love is your friend. I was very impressed with this piece and loved the play with words in the midst of a somber song sung.

Oh the bittersweet emotions of Love. The Gods must have been smiling down on you the day you wrote this eloquent poem..It is the amalgam of so many wonderful words, feelings and inspiring imagery..I could almost paint a wonderful picture from the portrait it conjures up. Highest praise for this..Diana..
Music and love play an important part in control of another person. We seem to see and hear only that which can consume us. Your beautiful mystical, mythical poem exemplifies that for me. Well done, friend.
Oooooh...This is NICE! SWEET and Luscious nice!
I love that style you decided upon for wording Reg! :)

What a beautiful piece. sometimes we make a choice before we think of the consequences. But life is full of choices and we are who we are because of them. Well done, my Friend, Pamela
I love those words. I absolutely love those words. Loving was not a haphazard thing, but a conscious choice. A valid choice. A choice that the lover is willing to live with and appreciate. This is a wonderful poem, Regis!
Oooh a powerful write filled with excitement, anticipation, and great imagery. Your poem flows with ease...a very emotional write, well done dear friend!
Blessings,

Rumours are poison and so powerful...yet you come away with something infinite precious which one day will turn into the loveliest memory...or is that too presumptuous, too positive a take on this poem which expresses the sadness and the bliss of an interlude?
Regis what a beautiful write you share with us, you had e read this over a few times as though it was music. a love and yet a saddness within. I must say the picture is of pure innocents. Great write.

The heartbreak love can sometimes bring. It is so emotionally taxing. Draining away our tenderness and often our caring for a while. But love always blossoms anew and bolder than ever before. Hold tight for it's next bloom will be more rewarding than the last. Your pen has spawned magic again. Jon Michael Willey
Regis, this is written so this reader could truly relate to it and I could feel a sense of pain in it also. Someone special is always hard to forget...it gets in the heart and lays there like rust, but memories always jogs the mind to remember and have a good warm feeling. An excellent writing.
"Oh my this is beautiful!
Beautiful sensual romantic feelings!
So much emotion!
I Love This kind of poetry so much!
And this Piece is unique!!
Peace Love and hugssss....Morning Star
Sometimes, it is such a sweet experience to be a willing victim or to allow someone you love to take control of your emotions and may I add, passion. A choice that to some, maybe unwise, but for the hopeless romantic like me, it's a choice worth plunging head on! Wonderful piece, Reg.
A very powerful poem, Regis! A sensual feel, yet sad. I think we've all felt this way somewhere along the way. But your expression of these feelings is both creative and beautiful.

Why is it the most difficult thing in this life for so many is to love and be loved, for soul mates to join and become one. Masters of the universe, but inadequate in the art of loving. Great write...
This is so romantic and beautiful. So much emotion and visual in this one. What a beautiful love...sounds like a keeper. Love the words...they sent chills through my body. Phenomenal write, Reg.
I so agree with Michelle. It doesn't matter if we have loved and lost, but what matters is that we keep trying to find our soul mate. For those of us who can find that one special person to live and grow old with, we are very lucky. For many years I cried because no one seemed to care. Then one special person came along, and made me very happy. The same can happen for anyone. As Kenny Rogers sang in Coward Of The County, "There's someone for everyone...", and I really believe that.
Chin up dear brother, because when you least expect it, there she is.
when you wrote ..."must move on, whatever that means, hurting will not be denied", I lived these words for decades. I moved on, and continued moving on, until fate stepped in and offered me a helping hand.
The heart is a lonely hunter, but we must be positive. This piece reminds me of the battles I fought over the years, mainly with myself. This is an emotional, surreal piece that delves into the heart, and makes us think. When poetry can do that, it is all good.
Thank you for sharing.
May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), little sister, Barbie
I once read a quote that said "It is better to have loved and lost. MUCH better." When I think of those who have never been in love, intoxicated by another...I pity them. True love is the very essence of living. I have never regretted spending a part of my life with someone who could light the fires of such emotion. This is a sensual, thought provoking write my friend...Love and blessings, Michelle
I can truly relate here..."must move on, whatever that means, hurting will not be denied"...why is that? Beautifully written and truthful description of how love so often is...
Good things to you, Reg,
Jim

My thoughts run concurrent with John's below me - "crushed petals on the soul" leaving their sweet perfume as incense daily at the altar of your heart. Love the musing ways you took us on here, like being aparty to an inner monologue. Makes it feel very soft and intimate. Beautiful expression to your thoughts. Love, Kate xx

Fantastic bit of writing here, my friend . . . We don't always get it right . . . But we always keep trying . . . Isn't that the wonderful thing? . . . Each mistake gives us more knowledge of ourselves and our fellow humans . . .
Sounds like love to me :)! If she called you, why must you move on? Sometimes our minds and bodies betray us, feed us lies to chew on, choke on doubt, discord. Me thinks you need to give her a chance before moving on.
Love the poem and author!
