I know the feeling of being overwhelmed and you've described it so well. But you do write much better than I and the feelings you show in your verses are true to form, and need to be read, then we will understand more of you, Regis.

Boy, by title, this poem is a malapropism of first magnitude as to its brilliant author, a writer with an extraordinary pen filled with magical words and striking images, a poet of unique and treasured gifts who shares with us all many moments of sheer joy.

I just love to let my eyes capture such phrases as "Rare flash of saphire flight" and "your sad soulful smile, Lovely and bittersweet Like a fading rainbow."

Don't ever leave Authorsden, Reg, or I'll hunt you down like a dog just to read more or your colorful and original pieces!

VERY souldful and deep. We are all overwhelmed by the world in some way, and some more than others. I was overwhelmed by the world for not just years, but decades. Now I am overcoming that feeling, and becoming more happier.

A heavy heart given wings and a song of expression, Regis. The fragility and delicacy in this is so bittersweet and poignant... and what a graphic! You whisper in my ear, I turn, watch your words, tinged with sorrow, sadness, emerge. The light about you, your aura, is light enough to lip read, I rest my head upon your shoulder, hug you closely and lift some of your depression into myself. In time, we may do an about-face but friends share the joy and despair of those whom they love and care for. I am strong enough, trust me.

Sounds like my current state, Regis- am feeling this way myself, trying to get on SSDI, denied 2X ("not disabled enough!!") while those who don't need it get it!! Frustrating!! In my bio, I state that I don't believe in a muse or writer's block. All writers are different and wonderfully so. Some like to blame a muse...excellent, if that works! It's really a coping mechanism. (Some may disagree with me for stating that...lol...but it's the truth.) The only Muse I give credit to is God. He gave me a gift and I value it. I have come to understand and accept how my writer's soul operates - words come out when they were meant to come out. This is not a block. It's the writer's mind shutting down naturally, preparing for its next creative stint. Most of us are blissfully unaware that we need the break. Those times are perfect for catching up on reading, family gatherings, movie/TV watching, and etc.... It's a time of frustration because you feel like you should be able to write; the ideas are there but you can't express them like you normally can. You have expressed this frustration BEAUTIFULLY in this poem! Some writers thrive on being overwhelmed. Like you, I am one to shut down when overwhelmed. In fact, I'm going through this right now.
