An emotional, moving, and powerful poem. It speaks volumes and connects with the readers in different ways. Thank you for sharing. The picture complements the poem well.

I have had that aftershock; many times I was not successful becoming engaged with the shocker, but they were someone to behold--as we all are.
never know when it's going to hit you or how, but thats what makes it so special. then memories of the first time stay with you for a lifetime. enjoy my friend, just as i enjoyed reading your words.

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL, Regis! I am so thankful you commented on one of my writings. I call it that because I'm not sure how to voice what I'm thinking yet...still in school, still learning, still. Now, I get to come back here (between reading about semantics and trying to understand Sakespeare)and give myself a treat! Your writing is so fun to read!! Thank you for putting these in here and hugs to you! Lynnie
In my AD poem, "I Dream of You" I talk about...
"Even before we meet
Your image and qualities fill my soul
With the need of you"
"Aftershock" is exactly what I had in mind, Regis. One glance, and your feet are set in concrete and you can't breathe! I absolutely love those moments. For me, even the aftershock is delightful.
Another aftershock in life is I'm 76 and nothing's changed. Hallelujah! If an "aftershock" is my transitioning moment, I'll consider myself blessed beyond belief.
Simple and profound. Fabulous, Regis!
(Oh, by the way, I don't suppose you'd consider sharing her phone number, maybe?)

I like this one! There are so many wonderful moments in our lives that we would have missed had we not just grabbed that small niche in time! You never know what Destiny will put in your path!
Regis,
I had a few moments so thought I'd browse through AD and see what I might have missed first time around. I'm so glad I did. This poem is really fabulous -- simple, and yet profound. I often stop to wonder about those "Two minutes either way, before or after " moments that have changed my life, many times without my even knowing it.
Peace,
Jean
This is a really good poem and picture of the importance of a slice of time, Regis. And, it makes me hurt so good.......Jerry

Wow...perhaps enough to somewhat divert my love of rhyme :0) Your words paint fantastic images, brillient use of language and the pic summed it all up beautifully. Thanks for your reviews else I may not have stumbled upon your work.

Superb! It reminded me of all the juggling that must happen to ensure that things happen as God intends... I am sure we don't even recognize a quarter of the orchestrations that must occur on a daily basis...
Thanks for the reminder. :~)

Reg, the bench, lovely day, were fated ploys, a moment and the opportunity when love may have taken a huge bite from your heart -- and this young lady, she is a looker too -- peace and love -- Jon Michael
ya know... some people just have that effect on us. sigh... I remember, just didn't know it was you. Smiles, your poem brought me into the moment. Your friend, Kathy
Very powerful! Some say its predestination, and perhaps that is so. I beieve every thing is written before it actually happens.... There are undercurrents in the poem. I wish you well...M
A vision of loveliness, such supple curves, and the angular chiseled features, and just enough shown to provoke imaginations fires and the hearts inquisitiveness. Such a romantic you are dear Regis.
Fantastic writing, Regis. I do think there's a reason we meet the people we meet. Each person changes us. However, sounds like this person had a profound affect on you. Hugs,
Sheila
Regis, strongly written with a gentle eloquence--a poem a man would write--been a while since a man wrote a poem like this about me--I misss it!! <G>
This is lovely, R. I like the part about the rainbow, thunder, earthquake. It is these moments, including their aftershock, that keep us young, n'est-ce pas? I don't believe in fate, meant-to-be, or any of that. I believe in randomness, in chance. The choice is ours if we decide to take that chance or not. One of my favorite short stories of all time -- perhaps my favorite, is "The Beast in the Jungle," by Henry James. It is about a man who waits his whole adult life for something great to happen to him; meanwhile.......well, just read it! How do you have so many readers and reviewers, young man???? People adore you. Maybe you will be so lucky with this chance encounter. best to you and may your dreams always be sweet ones. Juli
It's amazing how it can feel like a lifetime in such a short period of time, when someone touches our soul, and we allow them into our own. Beautiful moment...wonderful aftershock, for now...until you return again. Lovely, Elizabeth
Reg,
This poem tells all of us to be open to chances, opportunities, or we will miss out on life's gifts. Go for it, please!

I don't know what it would be
a moment of fate or destiny
I think you were destined to be there at that moment
What ever it is it was meant to be!
And your words in this amazing poem took my breath away!
I am happy for you!!
Peace Love and Light and Hugsss...Yolie
Regis, how beautiful. I have written "Cross a street, turn a corner and your life can change forever." how your writing brings this all back to me. I'm not into poetry and often cannot understand what the writer is attempting to say, but this hit me in the heart. Great, heartfelt poem.

oh how so true.....colliding with ...destiny,fate.I sure hope it lasted more that those fleeting moments ..perhaps a lifetime..but then maybe a lifetime passsed in those few moments

On the Richter Scale of Love, Regis...epicenter of the heart...fault lines never mend, but we can move on to more stable and not as shaky ground...be well these days...

Beautiful love story. How many people do you sit down next to waiting for a bus, when it blossoms into love. Rare. I loved the way you wrote this.
