I hear your words
I watch your idle gestures
but the ground is unwavering.
The city has not slept in a month of Sundays.
Onward we press, into the clouds of Babylon.
I have seen the scars the people bare.
I have held her dying children in my arms.
Seven thousand miles away you spit in my face,
with all the vision you have been given,
you still refuse to see.
I hear words in my allegiance to this country
God has blessed.
In your twisted vision
you would take them away.
Turn all eyes to Israel, hear this cry.
Embrace your King O Israel!
Wake from your slumber.
The eleventh hour is at hand.
Lest you be cast to the Grapes of Wrath
hear this voice inside the cage singing.
With the joy unto the Lord
follow this song of Paradise.
Oh Lord!
Wake the mighty eagle
seven thousand miles away.
I would die for you in Babylon
to rise above the clouds.
Heed the words of Jeremiah
Embrace The Living God!!
Carry your Cross!
I can see the clouds of Babylon
rising up in the distance;
from the harbor waters,
above the flame of Lady Liberty.
I watched the souls of three thousand
rise above the clouds,
marking this place in my heart.
Raise my sword above your words
into the streets of Babylon.
I do this for you and the children I have
that drink from the chalice of liberty and freedom.
To see me through the darkest hours
I will seek The Lord in my prayers.
From the eves of the summer house
a dove has descended upon me.
reminded me of the song
"By the rivers of Babylon"
