 I Am Not Amused
I don’t find my muse amusing
Quite the opposite in fact
She lacks consideration
And has no acquaintance with tact
She wakes me at three in the morning
Because she has something to say
Never caring that we humans
Prefer to work in the day
I stumble across the room to the computer
Turning it on only to wait
Pondering the grave injustice
Of being a poet by fate
Finally, my fingers get active
Typing the words that I hear
Singing so demanding so crisp and clear in my ear
Inspiration stops as my muse decides to take a break
Leaving me at the computer alert and fully awake
As I try to think of words to begin another verse
I’m struck again that my muse is very perverse
Some might find it amusing to me it a trial and more
But I’m not complaining words and I have a certain rapport
That my muse helped me develop over years of nighttime chit chat
I just wish she was more of a diplomat

I am not amused, either. Seems she's taken a vacation and have to work like heck to string words together...sure would be easier if she were here to help?!? An excellent write, Bobbi, that ALL writers will identify with. Hope she comes back soon. :)

(((HUGS))) love and Happy New Year!, Karla.

This is a cute write! If your muse is a bother, send her to me, as my muse wanders and I have to go hunting for her when I have thoughts that need written.

Hi Bobbi
Seniors' moments get me if I don't get words down immediately, but sometimes I'm just too lazy to get out of bed. My New Year's resolution should probably be to take pad and pen to bed every night.
Have a great 2009. Cheers! Liz

O, boy. Can I ever relate to this one! My muse sometimes awakens me at two, three in the morning; if I get on the computer before five, my twin sister, oh, boy! Does she get MAD!! I am NOT to get on the computer before five! LOL But what can I do?? A lot of the time I just have to wing it! LOL Great write, Bobbi; well done!

Happy 2009 to you; may it be your best year EVER!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D

Well I think we all know that are muse's can be annoying at times even if we love them and the inspirations they inspire. Good one...
