Just jump right in and give it a go,
What have you got to lose?
Give up the smokes, if you want to grow,
and I'll try to hold on to the booze.
Don't try so hard to look so tough,
You'll only get hurt in the end.
Not all of the girls prefer ‘em rough,
Don't think you're too hard to bend.
You strut around with your head in the trees,
Like the king of all you survey.
You enter the room like a strong stiff breeze,
And leave like a lamb at play.
Decorum was never your strongest point,
Nor was going to bed in the dark.
Why's boy like you banged up in this joint?
When your mind is out there in the park.
So go back in your shell, where you feel at home,
Stop acting so brash and so bold.
You may be the subject of this stupid poem,
But you are still only six years old.
The Wholly Book of Genesis is a humorous satire on the first book of the Old Testament where the Story of Creation, the building of Noah's Ark, Sodom and Gomorrah and the families of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob are thoroughly spoofed and broadsided.
