For the emotional vampire shall drain you of your vitality, through learning your needs where you believe it is love, and takes your energy only to replace with agony ~Lily of Lough Neagh~

Poem Artwork

 Poignant Ramblings written in blood

She lured me in, those eyes

Hypnotizing pulling me deep

I was powerless to her hold

For naught known the fatal wound

Inflicted upon my soul

Cutting more deeply than a blade

Consuming all the vitality of my soul

For it was surely subtle

Her poignant ramblings written in blood

Captured me to what was naught truth

For this curse so inflicted upon my soul

I desired, lusted for, craved so consumed

I wanted this fire, this fire that drew me

Unto the depths of love, only hell resides

For she becomes the succubus of eternal hell

My demon of the night that possesses my soul

Will this nightmare ever end…

Can I be loosed from this grip…

For now I am filled with hatred,

For naught only myself, but her

She fills with hate for she is an animal

There are no longer human remains

I struggle for my own strength

As she has pulled it away from me

Asphyxiating desire to run

Fear of becoming as she

For which is her only goal

To turn so many unto slavery

Her puppets to do her bidding

For she is the needed drug

Despair fills me, overcomes me

Is there no hope of survival

But I hide my wounds

Pray for another day

That I go unnoticed in my agony

Truly compelling, Carol; your verses and what they express bring chills to my soul. Very effective and to me, this can apply to other "real" situations as well. Thank you for sharing. Love and best wishes,

xo Regis

Even the thought of this is frightening! No-one should be under this type of control

I think you have captured a very powerful force here in the way you wrote the words you chose. Evisceratingly conveyed, and ending in the silent scream. Strong piece! ~~ DIana

So very daunting would be the
power of another over one's soul
*Carolee* and you have captured
it so very well....

I will understand this as a relationship without love and none in return. Only one which holds a terrible addiction

I bow and tip my hat to you

Yes the energy vampires are out there with their smiles as they listen to the way to drain you. But you can remove them just by becoming aware that this is their true nature....and remember yours!

You are able to write in so many styles. No matter the subject or the style, everything appeals to the imagination, touches the heart and the soul and is so recognizable for many of us.

You're a great writer Carolee

Like Jerry i liked that movie. The pour soul you describe would need a powerful angel to rescue him if he is to escape for it sounds like the vampire has sucked all his strength.
You have written an intriquing tale perfectly a real keeper.

Oh boy, I LOVED that moved the photo is from, I must have seen it four or five times, and that is unusual for me.

Your poem captures the fear within Cage's character completely. Damn! Makes me want to run out and rent the darn movie. Yes, her only goal was to enslave and drain blood when the desire struck her. Loved this poem, it will go into my library.
