"MY PAL JOEY" ...

Poem Artwork

SHRIMPY

Tom Hyland - (C) 3/3/15

It was way way Back in Sixty-Five ...
Fifty Years Ago and That Ain't No Jive!

March 11th Out Popped Lil Joey IV...
Papa Joe III said: "It's a Boy! Sakes Alive!

T'was down at Mercy Hospital, in Old Baltimore,
And the Ole Stork had Trouble gittin' thru the Door!

Baby Joe weighed about 22 pounds maybe More?
Poor Ole Mom Sarah was Very ...Very Sore!

As time Rolled by there was some Fussin' n' Feudin'
And Lil Joey growed up Rootin' n' Tootin'!

While just a Tad, Mom n' Pop went their separate Ways ...
So, Lil Joey had some confusing Days.

Later on, Sarah did get Re-Wed ...
N' Lenny, his Step-Dad, saw to it, that Joey got Fed!

By the time he was in his Teens up in Bloomsburg' PA
This Rascal got in Trouble, just about ... Every Day!

We think his Grand-Dad had a Farm, where he Slopped the Pigs ...
But we don't know too much 'bout them thar Digs!

We won't enumerate his Trials n' Tribulations ...
Suffice it to say ... he lacked ... Disciplinations‘!

If'n you got Time to let him Bend your Ear ...
He'll tell you a Tale or Two, or Twelve ...
Year... by Year ... by Year!

We won't Tattletale now whether he Did any Time ...
Let's just say ... the Punishment Fit the Crime!

Ramblin‘, Rambunctious Joey has a Cherubic Smile ...
A Pool-Shootin‘ Son-Of-a-Gun ...
Teasin' Poor Ole TomKat ... All the While!

How Cherie Puts Up with him ... isn't very Clear ...
"It's Time to Go Now" ... Yes Dear ...
Right After ... One More Beer!

Joe has a Son by Name of Josh ...
By Gosh I' am Told ...
If Memory serves me ...
Only 26 Years Old!

Step-Brother Lenny ... also known as "Pudge" ...
Probably more Handsome? You be the Judge!

Mud-Slinger, Pushin Cement n' Sand ...
Works Now Down at The Capital of The Land!

He don't "Put de Lime in de Cocoanut n' Drink it All Down,
But ... Bud Lite/Lime ... He can Really Pound!

I heard tell that when Scotty n' Joey were on many Cruises ...
They "Sampled" All Kinds of Boozes!

Andrew & Scotty call Joey "Shrimpy" ... Seems kinda Silly ...
Could it Be Because ... he has such ... a Wee Little Willy ???

I Give you a Toast ...
To Our Pal Joey ...

SHRIMPY ... YOU ARE THE MOST-EST !

(C) - TKH.

Very entertaining read! You need to actually publish this stuff; real publishing - this is a cross between Dr. Seuss and "Song of the South." -- Jeff Mason

A rousing tribute to a real character. You have to quit running around with the younger generation. They are corrupting you, those damn baby boomers!
