or not at all
coming in, head down
with a heart more still than my own.
As I fumble with life
miles above you
your step continues
precise, measured
testing the wind.
I dream….
not knowing whether we shall meet
in this darkness
feeling you out there
stirring briefly in a soft drizzle
that dampens your sea of corn.
