The Pacific Ocean, It is great. Half the surface of Earth. The thrashing torrents and foamy crests I've seen in the clouds.
Your depths, a mysterious abyss,
The darkest black,
Infinite and terrifying.
Monsters dart beneath the surface,
And have found innumerable species
To prey upon.
I know I would die
If I ever see those dreadful, powerful
Waves.

Thanks for the reviews. Once, as a child, I was at the Atlantic Ocean, playing in the shallow water. The waves began to grow larger and larger quickly. The adults yelled at me to come to shore. I didn't listen. The waves then became so huge and powerful, and rolled over my head so fast, I had to run my hardest or I know I would've been swept away.
An interesting revelation in the last three lines. Quite wishful thinking.
Once I experienced waves that crossed the great Pacific and landed on the beach in Santa Cruz. While I tried all day to body surf a frigid wave, all I got was swamped in wave after wave of water that tasted like it came from a sewer. So much for romanticism.
