Perhaps all the bullet points you've outlined as society's malady personified are but scales of justice and morals slowly descending to the bottom. When that rock bottom is reached, as they say, there is only one way to go... up. Otherwise, the scales will become so imbalanced as to become dormant and irrelevant. Such a time may be timed in such a way that AI will become more than just relevant, perhaps amassed artificial intelligence and "reason" will right the scales... at least one can hope.

I prefer it when you write humor. We must remember that news media always reports the worst. I don't see any major meltdown. I do see inequality addressed much more strongly because it is the poorest that are bearing the brunt of the pandemic. I am not hurting at all, nor anyone I know except one writer here.

It will be over, we just need to be patient, loving, helpful to those in need, and respectful of others' thoughts. The pendulum on the right has been there too long and outworn its welcome. The pendulum is destined to swing to the left for at least the next 20 years the pandemic be only a small glitch in the 21st-century compared to clean water and food needs to a growing population and evermore brutal global warming.

So true. But I have grown pessimistic about the upcoming election. I'll vote but because of the last election, and at least one other that I know of, I have serious doubts about the actual value of my vote. Hopefully my fears will be proven inconsequential.
