If Heaven Had A Window

Losing someone you love is so very difficult. Every day I look for signs that my mother is still with me. She was and always will be my greatest love. God bless all of you that have lost a loved one.

If Heaven Had A Window

If heaven had a window and God granted me a view,
of all the beauty it beholds I'd only look for you.
I'd listen for your laughter that was always music to me,
your beautiful hair and hazel eyes are what I'd wish most to see.
If I could only view once more the smile that warmed my heart,
I'd treasure that moment as long as I live and we must be apart.
Here on earth I search for you and pray to God for signs,
and every day that passes you're still with me in my mind.
I know you're happy in heaven you've earned your mansion indeed,
I imagine your kitchen table and you waiting there for me.
I love you and I miss you more than words can say,
and what I wouldn't give just to talk to you today.
I hope that you can hear me and listen to my thoughts,
and where ever this life takes me you know I've not forgot.
That once upon a time I was blessed and loved its true ,
and if heaven had a window I'd only look for you.

I read this poem to my mother just now, because she has dementia ( Lewy-body) and today forgot that she had lost her mother decades ago. She was wanting to meet her in our town today. When she remembered her mom had died many years ago, she cried and dad and I comforted her. I read this poem to her, and it brought her SUCH comfort. She smiled at me, and said That's a good poem. Thanks for using your gift to touch our hearts. God bless you. Always write, you have a gift.

Randy Alcorn, a favorite author of mine, has a book called simply "Heaven." It could help answer some of your questions.
You might be blessed by some of my poems..."Does Mother Miss Me?" "Journey on a Golden Street" "Her Life Goes on" "Seeing The Son" It's so hard, only God knows how each of us grieves, but He is there to help us through.

What a very lovely poem and its message speak for you and all the love you hold inside your heart for your mother. To leave such beautiful memories is part and parcel for the undying love you have for you mother.

Dear Kathy,
In your latest poem, the last line reads.
"That once upon a time I was blessed and loved its true ,
and if heaven had a window I'd only look for you".
I may add:
You are STILL loved and blessed for it is so true
For God has blessed you with an eternal memory of having a mother that truly loves you
That love will remain in your heart and will forever bring lasting comfort to you

This is a special blessing that many children that I visit do not have. So consider yourself blessed eternally.

Amen
