Conflicts of unresolved aspirations
Between angry warring nations
Promoting differing postulations
Extending through frequent negotiations
Stalled by numerous regulations
Initiating military conflagrations
Assembling soldiers and munitions
Fight from fortified positions
Bomb and kill the populations
Fleeing from war's exterminations
Warriors die - no reservations
Protecting those differing postulations
Between warring angry nations
With conflicting aspirations
Interesting wordplay here, almost graphic in its beginning, middle and end, taking us into extremes, then back to, what for this reader, is the obvious message: far too much of the war mindset is playing dodge-ball with futility...the sooner or later endgame where only history wins.
Simple Truths of Men. It's why I never fought against the Vietnam Police Action in the 60 & 70's. What I did Fight Against was The Illegal Draft. This was a Civil Rights Consideration. I believed in fighting against the Excesses of our Flawed Society. Society is built to change. The nature of Men is a more difficult issue. This takes a lifetime to even effect. Which is my job as a Poet.
Sadly, war has been on this lovely planet forever. I keep praying for peace; why fight? What is the fuss all about? Religions? Yeah, that's a "biggie." Frankly, I am sick of it. Thank you, Christopher. Love and peace,
only if we could prevent it;
then there would be lots of
innocent lives be saved,
well done, Chris!
Thanks for sharing!
