Poem Artwork

Logs stacked high and ready to burn.
Cranberry's picked for the holidays yearn.
Coats and mittens sit ready to wear.
Ice skates are sharpened I've only one pair.
My cat and my dogs fur grows long and soft.
More blankets to warm me come out of the loft.
The air is growing so crisp and so cool.
All of the children are now back in school.
All pumpkins are picked into pies they will go.
While I sit here waiting for autumns first snow.

The geese are gathering into large flocks.
Brilliant colors glowing in the trees fall a lot.
Moose babies all are fat and fit.
No light there soon will be to my eyes met.
Squirrels chattering move quickly now.
Bunny boots sit ominously in a row.
Snow blower set and revved to go.
Because just around the corner.
We'll have first autumn snow.

So right you are and I love the sense of being prepared and not hating the idea of winter arriving but instead almost embracing it for the beauty it will offer.

Oh, what a beautiful picture and write; immediately transports the reader to a new and gentler world, makes them relish the first snow. 'Course by the end of the season, you're ready for warmth, any kind of warmth, even a grizzly bear's embrace. LOL Beautiful, image rich verse, very well penned. Like Karen (below) said, wish we'd get snow...

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla. (And Karen better not leave without ME.)

Beautiful Imagery. It takes me to a place where as a child, I would love to see the snow fall, or the leaves fall off the trees.
