The bond with such a loving parent holds forever...a beautiful tribute indeed and a strong reminder of connections we have with those we love and have loved.
This is a wonderful tribute to a good father. Each one is different, but some share similar virtues - my father like yours, would give a poor person the shirt of his back, or his Social Security check - the Great Depression and World War II and his romantic diposition made a bleeding heart out of him, albeit a hard-nosed one.
This tender man reminds me so much of my father. He was a conductor and trains were his other life. With eight kid we had most of his attention but between trains his art and us kids he lived a very full life like your dad. Made me cry!

Oh my goodness! My own father loved trains like that, too! He even saved and mounted a spike for me, from the original track by our house, when the Railroad tore it out! I still have it, and every time I hear a train, I think of him...now, I will think of you - and your father, too. I'm sure you were a great blessing to him, as well. love ~ rhonda
Cherish well that memory but also know that your father lives on within you and will always be a part of you as mine is of me. Great tribute to a wonderful man.
