Halloween approaches and as usual I have my scarey, creepy, gothic horror halloween poem ready to go. But for a bit of fun with magic and the dark side, enjoy this. Not quite poetry I know, but a great verse for performance.
When someone left me a comment that said "you do that voodoo that you do so well" (from the song "That Old Black Magic") I was quite flattered as it is some years since I was able to do the kind of Black Magic that makes attractive women's' clothes fall off. Anyway, just in case a vestige of the old power remains here's an invitation to all you girls.
I do voodoo, you do voodoo,
Shamen in Peru do voodoo,
Dervishes in Timbuktu do voodoo,
Mystics in Kathmandu do voodoo -
but not as well as me and you do -
All the people who do voodoo
Should get together to do voodoo;
we could have a party in Waterloo
or a barbecue in Honolulu;
anywhere we're passing thru,
any place we can find a crew who
want to join in to do voodoo.
But most folks don't have a clue
what fun it is to do voodoo
so it could be just me and you
in which case we will play Scrabble.

This time of year always makes me silly too. Scrabble sounds like fun. Not as silly as voodoo who do, you do voodoo - boo. Wait I have my holidays mixed up, that is Halloween. LOL....
