It would be so hard to have this problem. I sympathize with you. My friend Lucy has lost her central vision, but she is still facing life with gusto and praising God.
This is a great metaphor for life, as some have mentioned below.

There is a saying in China to reflect a person who no longer wants to care about anyone ir anything that is happening to the world around - Living life with one eye closed.

Cute. Reminds me of the time I bought contact lenses back in the dark ages. I was in college and my father called me "moneybags" for making such an outrageous purchase. My eyes have always been quite dry. The first time I lost my contact was in a darkened theater. However, I looked down and it was on my sweater in the flickering light. The second time I lost my contact was in a car at night when it was below zero outside and the car seats were covered with hard, cold, plastic. I believe we found it shortly after I lost it in that dark car. The third time that I remember was just after eating and discovering that I could not see out of one eye. We searched the house, but I think I ate it. I think the first one was replaced for free, after that I had to pay.

As bad as it is now, Elizabeth, it could be worse. Blindness. It has always been a fear of mine.
