Money makers fool the folk with "progress" the Indian dreads,

Such as cliffs in South Dakota, where progress carved 4 heads.

"Let us use your land and with our ‘improvements’ fill,

And if you've a need for recompense, to us just send the bill.

For the greater good of all, we will wondrous benefits reap

And make thereby neat profits, but we've got to buy it cheap.”

You'll notice this dam project, that vehement protests engender,

Is aimed to increase all development and forests treeless render,

Other wonders of the world, which mankind chose to bungle?

There was a time in history when the Sahara was a jungle.

There will be reached a point, in Brazil, too, they will find,

The Indians are in the right. They, as prophets, are not blind.

What makes the builders offensive is that they at others scoff.

They profess to be honest prophets, but it is profits that they want!

The point will be reached one day, the ax will the last tree take,

When a point will be reached, where Mother Nature can not fake,

The point beyond which She cannot from eco-disaster rebound.

Worldwide, we can avoid that point with policies, that are sound.

There needs to be some global thought given to a global matter,

Before dam people such as these, the whole damn planet batter.

We are in a race to do it quickly, before the rain forests flood,

Or our race will perish, followed by eons to climb from the mud.
