As from afar
   We will see a star
to announce not just another child...
   That you might see through
these words of glass

While playing 'round the tree
   So we may all see
Through hallowed villages a call
   The message of tidings for all
25th is a special day
   For peace on earth where this Child lay...

For long ago it seems the truth
   A Child lingers in our hopes and dreams,
There, this Child the world brings.

Lo' a Mother and Child in winter boarded
   Wood cradled a Newborne guest
Wood will also later lay Him to rest
   No music after the long jouney over sand
Only an innkeeper with a helping hand...

And This Child, this
   special wonder
---how can I give more?

My tears overflow now
   Gushing forth a stream of thankfulness
From a world wrapped in itself, no less

O peaceful, glorious Night!
   Brought forth by this Child...
