The Smallest Dragon

The smallest dragon was flying along,
blowing smoke rings and singing songs
Playing tag with pixies and parachuting on dandelion fluff,
chatting with bees about flowers and other stuff.

It raced with its cousins, the dragonflies,
and stayed up all night counting stars in the sky.
It sat on a rose petal and read a book of farie tales.
It hitched a ride on a maple leaf and on the wind did sail.

It sat perched atop a unicorn's golden horn,
and took a nap inside a small acorn.
It slid down a rainbow into a clear cool stream,
It found a shoelace and made a swing.

It did arial cartwheels for the elf queen,
who laughed in delight to see such a thing.
It helped a ladybug fing its way home,
and had tea with its family when it was done.

It went laughed and played and had lots of fun,
but went to bed early so it could see the rising of the sun.
If you know where to look and find the right acorn to peek,
you might see the smallest dragon all curled up, fast asleep.

This was absolutely delightful. I write about dragons and such and I found this touching. I will be back to read more of your work.
